Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jr.
Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jr., is our Legacy Studios production this year and auditions are
November 8th, 9th, and 10th (during your childʼs class time). A shortened version of Broadway's
smash hit for young people, Millie Jr. is a high-spirited, zany, 1920ʼs musical that tells the story of
young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to New York City in search of a new life for herself.
Itʼs a New York full of intrigue and jazz – a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever. This stage version, loosely based on the popular movie, includes a full score of new songs and bright dance numbers.
The production will take place March 14th-18th. We hope to have two casts who will perform on
alternating nights. Earlier this year SIXTY Legacy Studios students participated in our production
of Dear Edwina, Jr. It was a huge success, and all who participated had a wonderful time making
new friends and memories as well as performing in a top-notch show directed by Mr. Mark and
choreographed by Ms. Bethany.
This musicalʼs rehearsals are in addition to the regularly scheduled classes of the Winter 2012
session. Most rehearsals take place over the weekend as well as a few weekday evenings.
Rehearsals may begin as early as December for some roles.
